The DSVC September Meeting—Blown Away by Ian Coyle

I had the great pleasure of seeing/hearing Ian Coyle speak for the Dallas Society of Visual Communications' (DSVC) September Meeting. I was not familiar with Ian prior to the meeting, and was absolutely blown away with him afterwards! He is so down-to-earth, insightful, creative and inspiring.

You Got Who

At the risk of sounding melodramatic, this event was one of those life-changing moment kinds of things. Their office was abuzz with excitement and spilling over with people, mostly in suits, laughing and enjoying wine and hors d’oeuvres delivered by waiters strolling by in penguin suits.

Dear Earth – We Got Your Back. Love, HCK2

Saving the earth is kind of a big task. It’s not something you can do in one afternoon. After all, trees take years to grow and the ecosystems don’t spontaneously manifest themselves (except in our company fridge sometimes).

This site, which isn't going to be named, asks the question "Why originate when you can emulate?" and goes on to say "Don't hire an ordinary Web designer you can afford. Borrow the ideas of great Web designers you could never afford."

How to Give Good Feedback

Whether you’re a creative collaborating on a project or a client giving feedback, giving good feedback and critiquing well are important to the development of a project. Good feedback and critiquing starts with internal conversation. Ask yourself questions like, “What do I like about this?”, “What do I dislike?”, “Why do I like/dislike this?”.
