DBJ: “We’re number three! We’re number three!”

Every year, the Dallas Business Journal puts out its coveted “Annual Book of Lists,” which determines the largest companies in its space based on local fee income of the preceding year. For nine years, we have steadily climbed this mountain from #25 to last year earning #5.

It’s no secret that 2009 was a horrible year for our economy and small businesses caught whiplash because of it. One day, everything is growing and clients are happy. The next day, there’s famine in the land and clients are pulling up stakes to save their own companies.

While we were concerned and knew the view of the basement was going to get familiar, our new business team stuck to what got us to #5 in the first place – commitment to relationships, not the retainer.

We understood organizations in diverse industries were still planning on marketing, but could afford to be much more selective about its creative, interactive and public relations needs. Our approach stressed understanding our clients’ approach to their respective space and how to get ahead of the competition that was holding on their resources.

We knew we were having good months despite the lull of the economy, but today’s sneak peek of the “Largest Metroplex Public Relations Agencies” was validation that our hard work and dedication to never stray from our vision was worth it.

HCK2 was recognized as the 3rd largest agency in North Texas! For a decade, we have climbed the mountain of success while staying true to what got us on that trail in the first place.

Why? Our integrated approach (we do it all). Our amazing clients (they rock). Our creative, interactive and PR work (it rocks too). Our success is nothing without the relationships we have created and work so hard to maintain. What an honor we get because we get to work with so many wonderful and talented people – both in our offices and in our clients’ as well.

You know, everything really is bigger in Texas… including the ratings.
